"We are so proud of the work we do. Please take a moment to watch this video and hear from one of our students about how The Literacy Center has impacted her life."
"It quickly became the highlight of my week," she recalls, "When I realized that AFM was asking for volunteers, I immediately knew I would love to get involved. And I wasn't wrong! It's delightful." "This is my first year," Zoe shares, "I've volunteered four times at this point, and I really enjoy the atmosphere of community and the lovely things you find there. The people are all really cool!" "I think my favorite part is just having an opportunity to be helpful," Zoe explains. "Putting work into supporting something like this, which really promotes community and art and supporting local businesses, just feels good." Reflecting on the farmer's market's impact, Zoe expresses, "I think a lot of people want to be more connected to their local businesses and farms, and this market really provides that connection. I'm always so surprised by the variety and quality of the things being made and grown by people and places around us." While volunteering, Zoe plays multiple roles, stating, "I usually end up wiping down picnic tables, helping with take-down at the management tent, and lending a hand to any vendors who wants help packing up." And while the occasional free food at the market is a nice perk, Zoe emphasizes, "But really, just getting to help out is reward enough for me." Her message to others is clear - "Visit the farmer's market, volunteer if you can, and spread the word to other people, and enjoy it."
Zoe's dedication to the farmer's market shines brightly, making her an inspiring volunteer and an essential part of the market's thriving community. Interested in joining our team? Visit https://attleborofarmersmarket.com/volunteer/ to learn more!
